As we continue to study fractions, students are identifying what fractions look like and how to properly write them. Now, we looked at many fractions and tried to look for patterns.
Some fractions have different numbers when you write them, but they are showing the same value. These are equivalent fractions. To push our understanding, students looks at a variety of fractions and sorted them into equivalent groups. This activity prompted many great discussions and pushed students to challenge their previous thoughts!
