Today we inquired into the writing process using blind sequencing. In groups of four, each student received a "secret folder" containing a document. They studied these documents because they had to report their findings back to the group. Students needed to remember the small details about their document because they could not open their folders while explaining their documents.
After explaining their documents, we revealed our documents and tried to sort them in order. Students learned about the process of writing through their sorting and their discussion with their groups.
After the sorting stage, we created our own "Writers' Corner" where the students can track their own steps through the process. We've included examples from our blind sorting to remind us what each step looks like.
Happy Writing!
